After Reverend Zizelmann returned to San Antonio in 1856 and formed a congregation in 1857, the first permanent home for St. John's was built in 1860.
The cornerstone was inscribed "Gott Allein Die Ehre", meaning "To God Alone the Glory." That is our theme for our 150th Anniversary year.
We had many activities and events that were celebrated during 2007. The culmination of these events was on December 26 where we opened the Cornerstone. Bishop Tiemann was our guest preacher. A reception followed the service.
